Christopher Nolan has finally revealed the title of his third, and most likely last, Batman film — The Dark Knight Rises.

While comic book and film geeks can start debating the cryptic nature of the title, Nolan did lay down some ground rules for the new movie.

First and foremost, he has convinced Warner Bros. to let him NOT shoot his next epic in 3-D. In a day and age where every other movie seems to be released in 3-D, this is a welcome change. Nolan himself is against the use of 3-D and is instead firmly embracing the use of IMAX cameras to enhance his films. All of the cityscape scenes, as well as the beginning bank robbery scene in The Dark Knight were filmed with an IMAX camera. It is Nolan’s goal to film most of The Dark Knight Rises using these cameras, giving the audience unparalleled visuals.
